It is with great humility I accept this task of leading as PRESIDENT of AWAKE. I profusely thank all the members who attended our AGM held on 13th, JULY, 2019 and elected the new executive committee members. We shall uphold the hope and faith entrusted on us to carry forward the mission and vision of AWAKE. The new executive team along with the staff underwent intensive training in team building and capacity building under the able guidance of Mr. Shreesha and Major Sonu of Pegasus Institute towards setting the goals for the next 2 years and promised to work with zeal and enthusiasm as “ONE TEAM, ONE DREAM”.
AWAKE team was invited along with other Industry associations for interaction with Karnataka State Minister for Industries and Commerce, Shri. Jagdish Shettar. AWAKE members expect a new industrial policy under his leadership that shall boost the growth of the MSME sector in our state. We as entrepreneurs understand, there is a significant downtrend in the economic situation of our country and the following impact on the growth of various sectors. As women and as Entrepreneurs, we have the confidence to meet any challenge. Our members had successful sales of various products in recently held “Kalavaibhava-2019 ” a Pre- Ganesha Exhibition at Basavnagudi. Thanks to the encouragement given by DIC, Ms. Gunjan Krishna, IAS – Commissioner (Large and mega industries ), Shri. Siddalinga Pujar – J.D, DIC ( Bangalore Urban), Smt. Sreedevi- Regional officer- EPCH ,Shri.Shesha-Hon. Secretary – Abhalashrama for kindly consenting to inaugurate the exhibition and encourage our members. Pre- Varamahalakshmi exhibition was held at Vijayanagar inaugurated by Mr Raju, President KASSIA and Ms. Kamala S. Malagi, Chief manager SBI, Industrial branch. I appreciate the initiatives of our chairperson- exhibition Ms. Rajani Ramesh and EC members Ms. Priya Rajesh, Ms. Pushpalatha and all our staff for their commitment.
Independence day was celebrated with flag hoisting, Tree planting and small sports event for members. Appreciate our membership chairperson- Ms. Ranjini Ganesh for making it so lively. Members meet in Handicraft sector was organized with an interactive session on “Design Trends and forecasting” supported by EPCH, GOI.
Entrepreneurship and skill Training was conducted for SC/ST women at Ramanagara, Chikkabalapura district. EDP was conducted at Vemgal, Kolar district. I Congratulate Ms. Jagadeesh Wari – Chairperson training and Mr. Sadashiv – training Coordinator and all the resource persons for giving hope to so many women for their better future. We thank all the sponsors and networking partners. Thanks to all the office bearers and the entire team of the Executive committee for their commitment, confidence, and perseverance and for helping me in carrying forward the activities of AWAKE as a team.
There seems to be a steady flow of people for counseling, students looking for training and research opportunities and a lot more to be planned for young entrepreneurs. We look forward to the participation of members from all districts, the formation of the Food Business Incubator Alumni network and a plethora of ideas, awareness, training, and networking in the next few months to come. Many more exciting programs, most needed for entrepreneurs are being planned. Watch out for our messages from time to time and stay connected.
