HP-CSR Project – HP LIFE (2010-2011)
AWAKE has been selected to execute the HP-LIFE (Learning Initiatives for Entrepreneurs) project for 2010-2011. The STSB and GET-IT programs are conducted in Bangalore and other districts of Karnataka. This program is to promote computer literacy among 1000 micro-entrepreneurs and youth who are seeking additional skills.
ICAR-NAIP Project (2009-2012)
AWAKE is a consortia partner with University of Agriculture Sciences, Bangalore, under the ICAR-NAIP project on ‘Value Chain Commercialization of Maize’. The aim of the project is to develop maize-based value-added health foods for nutritional supplementation, involving SHG women and farmers as stake-holders right form production, processing and marketing. Under this program 250 SHG women from 10 villages are trained in entrepreneurship, production and marketing of maize-based products and to use the Common Facility Centre (food incubator) set up at Malavalli, Mandya district.
The products manufactured at common facility centre are marketed under the brand name ‘MAIZY’ and promoted By AWAKE. Some of the MAIZY brand products are MAIZY Rava Flour, Vermicelli, Papads and Noodles.
RIP project at Koppal and Gulbarga districts supported by DIC – 2011
AWAKE is conducting Rural Industrial Programs (RIP) in Koppal and Gulbarga districts through awareness, EDP and skill training for women with the aim of creating opportunities for establishment of small scale industries in those areas.
Partner Institution with Ni-MSME
AWAKE, is a partner institution with Ni-MSME (an organisation of the Ministry of MSME, Govt of India, Hyderabad) to conduct EDP & ESDP under the scheme of Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDCs) across the districts of Karnataka.
